Terms of Use

1. What Receipts is

Receipts is a free prediction game about National Football League front-office decisions — contract extensions, free agency, trades, cap casualties, franchise tags and the draft. You predict what a club will do before it does it, and you build a public record of whether your reads were right.

2. Coins are not money

This is the important part, so it is stated plainly.

• Coins cannot be purchased. There is no way to buy them, and we will not sell them.
• Coins have no cash value and cannot be redeemed for money, prizes, or anything else of value.
• Coins cannot be transferred, traded, or sold between accounts.
• Running out of coins does not end your participation. You can always claim more at no cost, and you can keep predicting indefinitely.

Coins exist to make predictions cost something in the moment, so that confidence is expressed rather than declared. They are a scorekeeping device, nothing more.

3. Not gambling, not betting advice

Because nothing of value is staked and nothing of value can be won, Receipts is not gambling and is not a betting service. Nothing on this site is a recommendation to place a wager anywhere else, and the odds shown are generated by the predictions of other users on this site alone.

4. Eligibility

You must be 18 or over to hold an account. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and an account found to belong to a minor will be closed.

5. Your account

You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your password to yourself. One account per person. Creating additional accounts to influence a market or a leaderboard is grounds for closing all of them.

Your username, reputation score, accuracy, and prediction history are public. Your coin balance and email address are not.

6. How markets resolve

We write every market and we resolve every market. Resolution is based on official NFL transactions and confirmation from established contract sources. Reporting alone, including from well-sourced journalists, does not resolve a market before the move is official.

A market whose deadline passes without the event occurring resolves NO. A market whose outcome is unclear may be frozen until it can be settled properly.

We can correct a resolution we got wrong, and we will, including when that means reversing scores already awarded. Every correction is recorded with a reason. If you think a market was called incorrectly, tell us and we will look at it.

7. Fair play

Do not use multiple accounts, automate predictions, or coordinate with others to move a market. If you have material non-public information about a front-office decision — because of who you work for or who you know — do not predict on it. We may void predictions or close accounts where any of this occurs.

8. No NFL affiliation

Receipts is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the National Football League, the NFL Players Association, or any NFL club. Team and player names are used solely as factual references to publicly reported front-office events.

9. The service is provided as is

We are a small team and this is a free product. We do not guarantee that the site will be available, that markets will resolve on any particular timetable, or that scores will never contain errors. We will fix what we can.

We may change or discontinue any part of Receipts, and we may close an account that breaks these terms.

10. Changes and contact

If we change these terms materially, we will say so on the site. Questions, disputes, and account deletion requests go to the address on the privacy policy.
